Zhengguang details planned Chinese peptide-synthesis resin capacity
Zhejiang Zhengguang Industrial has outlined plans for a 250-tonne-per-year biopharmaceutical-resin project that includes peptide-synthesis supports, according to an October 21 response to a Shenzhen Stock Exchange financing inquiry.
The proposed product range includes Wang, 2-CTC, AM, MBHA and Sieber resins, alongside chromatography media and immobilized-enzyme carriers. The total capacity covers all these product families, with no disclosed allocation specifically for peptide synthesis.
The filing highlights the gap between product development and commercial supply. Zhengguang says it currently produces these materials only in small laboratory batches, without dedicated production lines. It also reports that no formal bulk orders have been signed for the proposed capacity.
The project could eventually broaden China's domestic supply of peptide-synthesis supports, but its contribution will depend on financing, construction and the transition to qualified industrial production.
