JYMed's Hubei A16 peptide workshop targets November production
Hubei JXBio, JYMed's peptide API manufacturing operation in Xianning, is targeting production at its new A16 workshop in November, according to an October 8 report by Economic Information Daily. A site representative said equipment adjustment and facility preparations were still under way.
The report places the workshop at the company's manufacturing base in the Xian'an Economic Development Zone. It describes workers adjusting equipment and attributes the November timetable to site management, rather than reporting an achieved startup.
JYMed had disclosed the expansion in August. Its August 1 company announcement said completion of A16 would bring the Hubei base to 10 tonnes/year of peptide API capacity and 85,000 L of overall reactor volume. These are separate manufacturing measures: annual production capability and reactor volume cannot be converted into one another or added together.
The October report quotes Sichuan Shuangma chairman Xie Jianping saying capacity would reach ten tonnes after A16 enters production. It therefore adds a more specific production target to the earlier expansion disclosure, rather than announcing another ten-tonne project.
JYMed's August statement also described preliminary planning for further production lines, with investment and construction timing undecided. That planning is separate from A16. For buyers, the immediate milestone is whether the workshop actually enters production in November; the timetable alone is not evidence of qualified commercial shipments from the new unit.
