AmbioPharm’s North Augusta expansion gains $118.96 million investment figure and end-2027 target
South Carolina’s Department of Commerce announced $118.96 million of investment and 202 planned jobs for AmbioPharm’s North Augusta expansion on June 16. Operations were expected to be online by the end of 2027.
The project involves a modular manufacturing building at the company’s existing campus at 1024 Dittman Court. Planned capabilities include solid-phase, liquid-phase and hybrid peptide synthesis, supported by semi-automated production systems and solvent-delivery infrastructure.
AmbioPharm had announced the expansion on March 24, describing 68,000 sq ft of purpose-built space for upstream commercial synthesis and large, complex peptide programs. June’s disclosure adds investment, employment and scheduling detail to that project; it is not a second expansion. The existing North Augusta operations are separate from the proposed new manufacturing space.
The state did not define “online” or provide a schedule for equipment qualification, validated production or customer-specific commercial batches. It also disclosed no reactor volumes or annual API output, so neither the investment nor floor area can be translated into peptide tonnage.
