# Medtide reports multi-tonne peptide capacity in China as Rocklin expansion advances

Medtide reported that its Qiantang facility in Hangzhou had annual peptide API capacity of several metric tonnes and batch capacity of up to 100 kg as of June 30\. The figures appeared in its interim results published on August 27, describing the earlier reporting-period position.

The manufacturing section attributes that capacity to completion and commissioning of an expansion incorporating 3,000 L SPPS reactors and 50-inch purification columns. However, the report’s opening summary describes the equipment as still undergoing commissioning. That inconsistency leaves the precise commissioning status unresolved; the capacity figures are company-reported capabilities, not measured output.

In Rocklin, California, Medtide said its expansion was under construction at June 30, with completion expected by year-end. The planned facility was designed for peptide API batches of up to 20 kg. That US batch specification is distinct from Qiantang’s larger reported scale.

Separately, CPC Scientific announced in May that Chinese Peptide Company’s tirzepatide API filing, DMF 043979, had received FDA acknowledgment. The filing adds product-specific regulatory context, but is not FDA approval or evidence that tirzepatide was being commercially produced at the disclosed maximum batch size.

The disclosures do not allocate the expanded capacity among molecules or customers, leaving actual utilization and available production slots unspecified.
